Double Pane Windows
Let's first of all know what double pane windows are. A double window pane is the one which insulates the inner environment of the room of a house from the external atmosphere. It is composed to two panes of glass with some sort of inert gas, mainly Argon between them.
These window panes are the most common ones being used these days because of the excellent insulation properties they provide. These are also sometimes referred to as double glazed window panes. The concept of 3 panes or triple glazing has also come up though it is yet at a small scale.
Double glazing of window panes is an advancement that has taken place in the last few decades and is now quite common. They not only add value to your home but also help you to save money and energy.
As they act as an insulator they do not allow the heat of sun that has entered the house to leave the house and therefore the house will remain warm during winters thus eliminating the use of a heater to some extent and thereby saving electricity. Experts say that they save about 25% of the electricity in winters and about 18% in summers. Saving energy thus saves money.
Not only does it save energy but it also reduces the amount of noises entering the house. Thus it can reduce noise pollution and create an atmosphere of peace in this busy and noisy urban life. Apart from this they are really easy to clean and install.
There is a substance named squeegee which needs to be applied onto the double pane windows and it will be so clear as if it was a new one. These window panes are also easy to work with as there are less chances of cranking.
The special UV layer in these window panes protects the flooring and other equipments of the house from the direct rays of the sun. This layer absorbs all the harmful UV radiations from the sun and protects the house from damage.
Now a coin always has 2 sides to it and if we look on the other side of the coin then we find certain disadvantages of installing window pane. However the disadvantages are not with the product but maybe due to some manufacturing defect or due to improper circumstances. One double pane windows in the entire house is of no use.
